From The Good Food Guide’s Restaurant Month to The Pig Hotel’s upcoming countryside escape, and Nina Matsunaga’s acclaimed new concept, there’s plenty to inspire your next foodie adventure. Whether you’re booking a table or planning a stay, here’s what’s happening across the country right now.
🍽️ The Good Food Guide Launches Inaugural Restaurant Month
The Good Food Guide is set to launch its first-ever Restaurant Month from 13 January to 13 February 2026.
This nationwide initiative invites restaurants, pubs, and cafés across the UK to participate by offering set menus that provide notable savings.

The campaign aims to drive bookings during the traditionally quiet post-holiday period and will be promoted to over 1 million website visitors and a community of 200,000+ engaged diners via The Good Food Guide’s app, newsletters, and social channels.
Participation is completely free, and existing set menus can be included if they offer diners significant savings.
The initiative is open to all restaurants, providing an excellent opportunity to attract new diners with accessible price points and enticing deals.

The restaurant will continue The Pig’s commitment to a 25-mile menu, sourcing produce from the estate and local suppliers.
Sustainability initiatives include electric car charging points, bike usage for guests and staff, and on-site vegetable and fruit production. Room rates are expected to start from £250 per night.
🌿 Nina Matsunaga Launches Tsuchi at The Black Bull, Sedbergh
One of our favourite Cumbrian chefs, Nina Matsunaga, has unveiled “Tsuchi,” a new restaurant concept at The Black Bull, he 17th-century inn on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
The name “Tsuchi,” meaning “earth” or “soil” in Japanese, reflects Matsunaga’s commitment to sustainability and her Japanese and German heritage.

The tasting menu combines British seasonal ingredients with Japanese and German flavours, offering dishes like hijiki salad with Lincolnshire smoked eel, courgette flower with broad beans and St Sunday’s cheese, and Howgill Hereford beef with Niigata rice.
