This week’s big news: Ugly Butterfly to reopen at Headland Hotel, Angela Hartnett set for not one but two new openings including a new Café Murano site and Out of Towners is back at the start of July.
Adam’s Handling It
The shock news that Adam Handling’s Ugly Butterfly would be closing its doors at Carbis Bay was softened by the announcement just a few days ago that it will be reopening at the 5 Star Headland Hotel in Newquay.
The Michelin Star chef has already laid his intentions out clearly for the restaurant in its reformation, stating that he will be looking to add a second star to his portfolio to keep company the star he already holds at the Frog.

The commanding and iconic Headland Hotel
The Scottish born chef who splits his time between London and the south-west where he also has gastro pub The Tartan Fox, is known for his unique interpretation of modern British cuisine, as well as his celebration of local and seasonal ingredients.
It will be fascinating to see the form the new restaurant takes once it emerges from its chrysalis! Read more here.
Angela Hartnett
It’s set to be a big year for the lovely Angela Hartnett, who will be opening two new restaurants in 2025.

Hartnett also hosts a fantastic podcast with Nick Grimshaw
A brand new Italian inspired restaurant and bar will open at the iconic Royal Opera House and will epitomise Hartnett’s love for simple but brilliant dishes and exceptional ingredients.
Set to open in September, it’s sure to become a prime destination for diners, whether taking in a show or not!
Later this Summer, a fourth instalment of Café Murano will be added to the chef’s portfolio with the new site opening in Marylebone.
