While the summer sun won’t stick around forever, the UK hospitality scene is making sure there’s plenty of warmth to go around. Here’s what’s unfolding, from a hotly anticipated opening in the Cotswolds, a quick reminder about nominations, and support for our community in motion.

The House of George Opens Its Doors — and We’re Swooning Already
Broadway has long been one of the prettiest jewels in the Cotswolds crown — and from Monday 11 August, it’s getting a brand-new sparkle.
The House of George isn’t just a hotel opening — it’s the arrival of something truly special. Housed in a beautifully restored 17th-century building on Broadway’s historic High Street, this boutique retreat blends heritage, craftsmanship and a dash of glamour in a way that feels both timeless and utterly fresh.

The House of George opens 11th August
Step inside and you’ll find ten individually designed bedrooms, each with its own personality, filled with tactile textures, bespoke furniture and thoughtful touches that make you want to unpack and stay a while.
There’s a sense of quiet luxury throughout — from the restored stained-glass window casting colourful light over the hall, to the elegant Crittall-framed dining room that begs for long, lingering evenings.
At its heart is Moda, the fine-dining restaurant led by Head Chef James Wilson. His menus are a celebration of seasonal British produce — much of it from the Cotswolds’ own doorstep — served with precision, flair and an eye for beauty on the plate. It’s the kind of cooking that will have guests booking their next stay before dessert hits the table.
The front of house is to be expertly led by the lovely Anthony Au Yeung, a well-established name in the world of luxury hospitality, and whose background includes the prestigious, 3 Michelin Star L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon in Hong Kong.
Whether you’re after a romantic getaway, a special-occasion dinner, or simply an excuse to immerse yourself in Cotswold charm done to perfection, we think you’ll be just as smitten as we are.
Step Up for Walk for Wellbeing
On the subject of escapes—this October marks the return of Hospitality Action’s Walk for Wellbeing, and once again we’re lacing up in support.

Walk for Wellbeing in support of Hospitality Action between 10th and 26th October
Whether you’re walking solo, in a team, or joining one of the hosted walks in cities like Manchester, Birmingham, London and Glasgow, the message is the same: to support the physical, mental and financial wellbeing of hospitality professionals across the UK.
Sophie will be walking in Liverpool, while Caroline will take on Manchester and York.
It’s a brilliant cause, and always a feel-good day out for the industry. Plus, if you’ve got a dog and a decent pair of trainers, you’ve already done most of the prep.
You can walk wherever you please, or see the locations for hosted walks, and sign up now, right here.
