Out of Towners
Once more Caroline and Sophie attended Manchester’s Finest Out of Towners on 25th March, as Head Chef Johnnie Crowe of London’s 1 Michelin Star Restaurant St. Barts descended on Manchester with a stunning 7 course tasting menu.
After three beautiful amuse bouche, they started with a beautifully arranged shellfish, seaweed and sea herbs dish to prepare the palate, quickly followed by crab, horseradish and buttermilk.

Shellfish Seaweed and Sea Herbs
Maitake mushrooms and roasted yeast were next followed by scallop and blackcurrant, before the main event of Duck Satay – as good as it sounds!

Desserts comprised a favourite – British Key Lime Pie, followed by a deliciously unique Black Koji Tart.
The exceptional wine pairings were again supplied by Berkmann Wine Cellars and were sourced from Tasca d’Almerita – an historic Sicilian family-owned wine estate.
Another success by Out of Towners, and we’re already looking forward to the next instalment!

Speaking of food and drink news in the city, the success story that is Higher Ground announced the opening of a new seafood and music bar.
You can read more about this at Manchester’s Finest – of course – by clicking here. Based on our experience of Higher Ground it’s going to be an amazing, chilled space with great food and, knowing our city, some cracking tunes.
Walk for Wellbeing
Another Walk for Wellbeing has been announced in support of Hospitality Action, with £340,000 already raised for this fantastic cause.
There will be hosted 20km walks throughout the UK on 19th October, but you can also “walk it your way” by walking any distance, in any location, any time from Friday 10 October – which is World Mental Health Awareness Day – to Sunday 26 October 2025.
By taking part, you will be helping Hospitality Action to support the 1 in 2 people with mental health issues that contact the charity for support, deliver in-person and phone counselling sessions and provide emergency grants to put food on the table.
