Hotel Manager / Operations Manager – Suffolk – Up to £38k – Live In Available

We’re recruiting a Hotel Manager / Operations Manager to take the lead at a characterful country inn in Suffolk, offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager who enjoys running a busy operation, developing a team and delivering an excellent guest experience.

Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role and candidates must have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship. If you require Sponsorship please do not apply, thank you.

This is a varied, hands-on leadership role where no two days are quite the same. With responsibility spanning the hotel’s day-to-day operation, you’ll oversee everything from front of house and food and beverage to housekeeping and events, ensuring all departments work together to deliver a consistently high standard of hospitality.

The property has its own character and plays an important part in the local hospitality scene, welcoming guests for overnight stays, dining and special occasions. Events are an important part of the operation, so this role would suit someone who enjoys balancing the detail of a well-run hotel with the energy and organisation needed to deliver successful functions.

You’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact, working closely with department heads, supporting the development of the team and helping drive the business forward. Alongside maintaining high service standards, you’ll be expected to understand the commercial side of the operation, manage costs effectively and identify opportunities to grow revenue.

What’s on offer?

  • Salary up to £38,000, depending on experience
  • Live-in accommodation available
  • 45-hour working week
  • A varied senior management role covering hotel operations and events
  • The opportunity to lead, develop and motivate a wider team
  • Scope to make a real contribution to the performance and continued success of the business

They’re looking for someone with at least three years’ hospitality experience and three years’ management experience, ideally within a hotel or a comparable operation.

As Hotel Manager / Operations Manager, you will:

  • Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the hotel, ensuring standards are maintained across all departments
  • Lead, support and develop department heads and the wider management team
  • Take responsibility for the guest experience, responding to feedback and ensuring any issues are resolved promptly and professionally
  • Manage the commercial performance of the business, monitoring revenue, costs, budgets and key performance indicators
  • Oversee events and functions, ensuring they are properly planned, well organised and delivered to a high standard
  • Build a positive working culture, encouraging accountability, teamwork and excellent service
  • Identify training and development needs, helping team members build their skills and progress within the business
  • Ensure operational procedures, health and safety requirements and relevant legislation are followed
  • Work closely with senior management to implement business plans and identify opportunities to improve performance

You’ll be commercially minded, organised and comfortable making decisions, but you’ll also understand that successful hospitality comes down to people. You’ll lead by example, set clear expectations and create an environment where the team feels supported and motivated to deliver its best.

This is an opportunity for an established Hotel Manager or Operations Manager looking for their next challenge, or an ambitious hospitality leader ready to take on broader responsibility.

With live-in accommodation available, the role could also suit someone looking to relocate and take the next step in their hospitality career.

If you’re a confident hospitality leader who can combine strong operational management with a genuine passion for service, team development and commercial success, we’d love to hear from you.

Due to the number of applicants received, unfortunately we are unable to reply individually to each. Should your application be suitable for the role, then you’ll hear from us within 48 hours, thank you.
