A talented Junior Sous Chef is required for a stunning coastal hotel located in the beautiful Channel Islands.

Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role and candidates must have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship. If you require Sponsorship please do not apply, thank you.

This is a seasonal opportunity running from May through to September, ideal for a chef looking to combine career progression with an unbeatable island lifestyle.

Set just moments from the shoreline, this well-regarded hotel restaurant is known for its fresh, seasonal menus and relaxed yet professional service style.

Benefits:

  • Competitive seasonal salary
  • Accommodation available if required
  • Working in a stunning beachfront location
  • Meals on duty
  • Supportive and experienced senior team

With a strong focus on locally sourced produce — including outstanding seafood — the kitchen delivers vibrant, modern British dishes to a loyal mix of hotel guests, destination diners and summer visitors.

The property enjoys a busy and energetic summer season, offering the perfect environment for a driven chef who thrives in a fast-paced, quality-led kitchen.

The kitchen is well organised and professionally run, with a Head Chef who values consistency, teamwork and attention to detail.

This is a hands-on role where you will play a key part in maintaining standards during a high-volume summer season.

As Junior Sous Chef you will:

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Help lead and motivate the brigade during busy service periods
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and cleanliness
  • Assist with ordering, stock control and kitchen organisation
  • Train and support junior members of the team
  • Ensure consistency across all sections and step up in the absence of senior chefs

This role would suit a strong Chef de Partie ready to step up, or an existing Junior Sous looking for an exciting seasonal challenge in a truly special location.

If you are looking for a rewarding summer role where you can develop your skills, gain valuable experience and enjoy island life, this is a fantastic opportunity.

Due to the number of applicants received, unfortunately we are unable to reply individually to each. Should your application be suitable for the role, then you’ll hear from us within 48 hours, thank you.

I couldn't just take Manchester's Finest at their word regarding JOJI had to find out for myself. So that's what I did the other Saturday. On my bill. Eating raw fish and pretending that I can use chopsticks 🥢 It was incredible. Sublime. So fresh. Such amazing ingredients, treated with expertise and care. And I have to let you know, there's something to be said for dining alone; it's going to be my new hobby. There was a lovely moment sat at the counter, when a total stranger and I made eye contact as we tried a dish at the same time, and both did that narrowing of the eyes when you taste something delicious, as we shared a moment of appreciation for our experience. He then turned back towards the friends he had come along with 😂🤓Digression... Anyway it was top. In the words of Douglas Adams "thanks for all the fish" 😁🫡 ...
