Recently refurbished, the pub boasts warm and inviting interiors, cosy log burners, comfortable bar and dining areas, and a spacious upstairs dining room. They are looking for a creative, enthusiastic and hands-on Head Chef who is passionate about producing excellent food using fresh, seasonal and locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.
The Role
As Head Chef, you will have responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen, leading your team from the front and ensuring consistently high standards across every aspect of the food operation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and developing appealing, seasonal menus showcasing fresh, quality ingredients.
- Taking full responsibility for the kitchen operation, ensuring consistently excellent food quality and presentation.
- Leading, motivating and developing a passionate kitchen team.
- Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and organisation.
- Managing food costs, stock control, ordering and kitchen profitability.
- Working closely with the management team to develop the food offering and attract both regular customers and new visitors.
- Bringing fresh ideas, creativity and enthusiasm to help establish the pub as a popular dining destination.
They are looking for a Head Chef who genuinely loves cooking and takes pride in producing delicious, honest food.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or a strong Sous Chef ready to take the next step.
- A passion for fresh, seasonal produce and quality British pub food.
- The creativity and confidence to develop menus and introduce exciting new dishes.
- Strong leadership skills with a positive, approachable and hands-on management style.
- Excellent organisational skills and sound financial awareness.
- A genuine desire to build a successful kitchen and become part of a friendly, community-focused business.
