We’re recruiting an Assistant Restaurant Manager or Restaurant Manager to join the team at an elegant boutique hotel in the historic heart of Stirling, where characterful surroundings, thoughtful hospitality and quality food come together.
Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role and candidates must have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship. If you require Sponsorship please do not apply, thank you.
This is a distinctive restaurant-with-rooms, tucked away in one of Stirling’s most attractive conservation areas, with the historic castle just above the city.
The hotel combines the charm of a period property with the comfort and service of a boutique stay, creating somewhere that feels personal rather than part of a large, impersonal hotel operation.
What’s on offer?
- Additional tips on top of salary
- Workplace pension and access to salary sacrifice schemes
- Employee discounts
- A positive, supportive working culture where people are encouraged to contribute and develop
- Scope for career progression and greater responsibility as you develop
- The chance to join an ambitious independent hospitality business during an exciting period of development
At its heart is an intimate restaurant that brings together a characterful period dining room and a beautifully restored conservatory.
Think elegant architectural details, natural light and views towards the leafy surroundings of Victoria Square. It’s a lovely setting for everything from a leisurely lunch or traditional afternoon tea to a special evening meal.
The food is every bit as important as the surroundings. They focus on quality Scottish produce, seasonal ingredients and menus that combine traditional favourites with a more contemporary touch.
The approach to hospitality is refined but relaxed, with the emphasis on making guests feel welcome and giving them a reason to return.
They’re looking for someone who can help take the restaurant forward, maintaining high standards while contributing ideas and helping shape the service style as the business continues to develop. It’s a particularly appealing opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine contribution rather than simply follow an established routine.
As Assistant Restaurant Manager / Restaurant Manager, you’ll:
- Help lead the day-to-day running of The Orangery, ensuring service is organised, welcoming and consistently delivered to a high standard
- Lead from the floor, setting the tone for the team and making sure guests receive attentive, personable hospitality
- Support, coach and develop the front of house team, building confidence and encouraging a positive approach to service
- Work closely with the kitchen to ensure clear communication and a smooth experience from preparation through to the end of service
- Oversee bookings, table management and service flow, ensuring the restaurant feels well organised without losing its relaxed atmosphere
- Maintain high standards of presentation, cleanliness and professionalism throughout the restaurant
- Build relationships with guests, respond to feedback and handle any issues with care and confidence
- Contribute ideas to improve the guest experience and help develop the restaurant’s identity
- Support the wider operation as the business grows, taking on greater responsibility in line with your experience and ability
They’re open to an experienced Restaurant Manager ready for a new challenge, as well as a strong Assistant Restaurant Manager looking to take the next step. You’ll need to enjoy being hands-on, have a genuine interest in food and hospitality, and understand how the smallest details can make a real difference to a guest’s experience.
Just as importantly, you’ll be approachable and confident in your leadership. This isn’t about creating an overly formal atmosphere; it’s about delivering thoughtful, professional service in a setting with plenty of personality, while helping the team take pride in what they do.
Stirling is a fantastic place to live and work, combining a rich history and striking architecture with beautiful countryside on the doorstep. Glasgow and Edinburgh are both within reach, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to build their career in a city with plenty to explore beyond work.
If you’re ready to make your mark in an independent hospitality business and help shape the next chapter of a characterful hotel restaurant, we’d love to hear from you.
Due to the number of applicants received, unfortunately we are unable to reply individually to each. Should your application be suitable for the role, then you’ll hear from us within 48 hours, thank you.
