Head Chef – Buckinghamshire – £45k + Bonus + Tronc

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen at a beautiful weddings and events venue in Amersham.

With a £45,000 salary, the chance to earn up to £3,000 in additional annual bonus and tronc on top, this is an exciting opportunity for a chef who enjoys leading a team, delivering memorable food and taking real ownership of a kitchen.

Please note: We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role and candidates must have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship. If you require Sponsorship please do not apply, thank you.

Working in a venue that hosts weddings and special occasions brings something a little different to the usual restaurant or pub kitchen.

From helping make a couple’s big day extra special to delivering great food for a range of events, there’s a real sense of occasion to the work, with plenty of scope for a Head Chef who enjoys being hands-on and making things happen behind the scenes.

What’s on offer?

  • £45,000 annual salary
  • Up to £3,000 annual discretionary bonus, based on KPIs including gross profit and labour budgets
  • Tronc on top, with payments varying according to business performance
  • 45-hour working week
  • The opportunity to lead and develop a kitchen team
  • A varied role within a weddings and events setting

You’ll be responsible for leading the kitchen team, maintaining high standards and ensuring the food operation runs smoothly. Alongside the creative side of the job, you’ll need to be organised and commercially minded, keeping a close eye on costs, staffing and the overall performance of the kitchen.

They’re looking for an experienced Head Chef who can bring a team together, stay calm when things get busy and take pride in delivering a great experience for guests.

You’ll need to combine strong kitchen leadership with good commercial awareness, understanding that the success of the operation comes down to both the food on the plate and how effectively the kitchen is run.

As Head Chef, you will:

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen and lead the team by example
  • Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and delivery
  • Organise preparation and kitchen operations to ensure events run smoothly
  • Lead, motivate and develop the brigade, creating a positive working environment
  • Manage stock, ordering and food costs effectively
  • Monitor gross profit and labour costs, working towards agreed budgets and targets
  • Work closely with the wider team to ensure the kitchen is ready for upcoming events and guest requirements
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene, health and safety standards
  • Look for ways to improve the food offering and overall kitchen operation

The bonus structure also gives you the opportunity to be rewarded for hitting key targets, with up to £3,000 available annually on top of your salary, alongside tronc.

If you’re a confident, hands-on Head Chef looking for something a little different from the usual restaurant or pub environment, this could be a great next move.

You’ll be taking the lead in a venue where the kitchen plays an important part in some of life’s biggest celebrations, with the responsibility and earning potential to match.

Due to the number of applicants received, unfortunately we are unable to reply individually to each. Should your application be suitable for the role, then you’ll hear from us within 48 hours, thank you.

I couldn't just take Manchester's Finest at their word regarding JOJI had to find out for myself. So that's what I did the other Saturday. On my bill. Eating raw fish and pretending that I can use chopsticks 🥢 It was incredible. Sublime. So fresh. Such amazing ingredients, treated with expertise and care. And I have to let you know, there's something to be said for dining alone; it's going to be my new hobby. There was a lovely moment sat at the counter, when a total stranger and I made eye contact as we tried a dish at the same time, and both did that narrowing of the eyes when you taste something delicious, as we shared a moment of appreciation for our experience. He then turned back towards the friends he had come along with 😂🤓Digression... Anyway it was top. In the words of Douglas Adams "thanks for all the fish" 😁🫡 ...
