This is a particularly exciting opportunity for a joint managers who want to take ownership of the day-to-day running of a traditional, busy country pub and play a key role in getting the hotel side of the business back up and running.
The pub is already trading well, with particularly strong Friday and Saturday business, while the hotel is currently closed as the owners look to appoint the right joint managers before reopening the bedrooms. With wedding venues nearby and a strong demand for quality local accommodation, there is plenty of opportunity to build the hotel operation back into a busy and successful part of the business.
The pub itself has a lovely, traditional feel and serves a food-led offering centred around well-executed, approachable dishes, small plates and a popular Sunday roast. The operation has a friendly, local feel but benefits from a beautiful rural setting and a substantial hotel attached.

The successful joint managers will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the pub, working alongside the existing team and taking responsibility for maintaining standards, service and the overall guest experience.
As the hotel reopens, the role will develop further, with responsibility for the accommodation operation and the wider team. There is currently a junior Assistant Manager in place, while the wider team includes four front-of-house staff, with a chef and housekeeping team also being recruited as the hotel prepares to reopen.
One of the couple should ideally have a good understanding of food and be comfortable getting involved in the kitchen when required.
A formal chef background isn’t essential, but one partner must be confident either cooking or supporting the kitchen operation, particularly while the food side of the business is being established. As Joint Managers you will:
- Take joint responsibility for the successful running of the pub
- Oversee the day-to-day operation and lead the existing team by example
- Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness and hospitality
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure a consistent food offering
- Be hands-on and visible within the business
- Help oversee the reopening of the 32-bedroom hotel
- Work alongside housekeeping and front-of-house teams as the hotel operation develops
- Manage guest enquiries and ensure visitors receive a warm and professional welcome
- Help grow the accommodation and events business
- Ensure the pub and hotel operate as one cohesive, well-run business
The ideal Managers will be hands-on, commercially minded and genuinely enjoy hospitality. One partner should ideally be confident with food and happy to get involved in the kitchen when required.
