This is a lovely opportunity to join a well-established hotel where the reception team are an important part of the guest experience. From the moment guests arrive, you’ll be one of the friendly faces welcoming them, helping with their stay and making sure everything runs smoothly from check-in through to check-out.
The hotel has a warm, personal feel and the team pride themselves on delivering genuine customer service rather than simply going through the motions. We’re looking for someone friendly, engaging and naturally good with people, who enjoys being part of a close-knit team.
Benefits:
- Up to £26,248 per annum plus average £250 per month in gratuities
- 39-hour working week
- Fair rota covering 5 days out of 7, including weekends
- Early and late shifts
- Join a friendly and welcoming hotel team
- Full training on hotel systems provided
The Role
As Hotel Receptionist, you’ll be one of the main points of contact for guests throughout their stay. You’ll welcome arrivals, deal with enquiries, assist with reservations and make sure guests receive the warm, efficient service they expect.
The role involves a mixture of early and late shifts, with the early shift running approximately 7.30am–4.00pm and the late shift approximately 2.30pm–10.30pm. You’ll work 39 hours across 5 days each week, with weekends shared fairly across the team.
The hotel uses Guestline (Access Group) and ResDiary for its reservations, although previous experience with these particular systems isn’t essential.
As Hotel Receptionist you will:
- Welcome guests and provide a warm, professional first impression
- Manage check-ins and check-outs
- Deal with guest enquiries and requests throughout their stay
- Handle reservations and booking enquiries
- Provide information about the hotel and local area
- Maintain accurate guest records and ensure reception administration is kept up to date
- Communicate effectively with other hotel departments
- Help resolve any guest queries or issues in a friendly and professional manner
- Ensure the reception area and front-of-house experience are maintained to a high standard
We’re looking for someone with previous experience working on hotel reception who understands the importance of excellent guest service. You don’t need to know Guestline or ResDiary, as training can be provided, but you do need to be confident dealing with people, organised and comfortable working as part of a team.
Most importantly, you’ll be friendly, engaging and genuinely interested in looking after guests. Someone who enjoys hospitality, has a positive attitude and naturally goes the extra mile will fit particularly well into this team.
If you’re an experienced hotel receptionist looking for a friendly team, a well-run hotel and a role where great customer service is genuinely valued, we’d love to hear from you.
Due to the number of applicants received, unfortunately we are unable to reply individually to each. Should your application be suitable for the role, then you’ll hear from us within 48 hours, thank you.
